Babiker Badri Scientific Association for Women Studies ( BBSAWS )

Overview

The Babiker Badri Scientific Association for Women’s Studies (BBSAWS) is a pioneering non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to advancing women’s rights, empowerment, and gender equality in Sudan. Established in 1979, BBSAWS emerged as a response to the recommendations of the Symposium on the Changing Status of Sudanese Women, held by Ahfad University for Women during its Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Named after Sheikh Babiker Badri, a trailblazer in women’s education in Sudan, the organization has been at the forefront of advocating for women’s inclusion in development, education, and leadership.

BBSAWS is committed to enhancing the status of Sudanese women through research, advocacy, and community-based programs. Its mission is to empower women to achieve their full potential, contribute to sustainable development, and foster a peaceful and equitable society. Community Animators Friendly Association (CAFA)

Overview

The Community Animators Friendly Association (CAFA) is a voluntary, non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to community development and social empowerment. Established in 1996 at Ahfad University for Women, CAFA began as a small group under the name Friends of the Reproductive Health Project. Over the years, it has grown into an independent NGO with branches across Sudan, playing a vital role in addressing community needs and fostering sustainable development.

CAFA’s mission is to empower communities through training, awareness-raising, and research activities, with a focus on creating positive social change. The organization envisions a society where individuals and communities are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to improve their quality of life and contribute to national development.
