Announcement: Opening of Applications for the Master of Sciences in Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) and Master of Science in Humanitarian Assistance and Post Disaster Development (HAPDD)
The School of REED at Ahfad University for Women is pleased to announce the opening of applications for its Master of Sciences in programs in Sustainable Rural Development and Humanitarian Assistance and Post Disaster Development
Below is the information you need to know:
• The program will initially be delivered online. Once the university resumes on-campus operations, it will shift to in-person delivery.
• Classes will be held in the evening.
• The language of instruction is English
Application Requirements:
• Completed online application form
• A copy of the authenticated university degree (BSc or BA) all fields
• A copy of the authenticated Sudanese Higher Secondary Certificate.
• A copy of the National Identification Number.
• Copy of the passport
• Passport-sized photo.
• Updated resume (CV).
• Two letters of recommendation
Notes: All your original certificates and transcripts of must be certified by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, if it is from institutions in Sudan. For foreign institutions, certificates and transcripts have to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Degree certificates and transcripts should be scanned in original color as soft.
Please Note the Important Deadlines:
• 1/1/2026: Application deadline.
• 7/1/2026: English language test for shortlisted applicants.
• 10/1/2026: Applicants will be notified about the status of their application after the interviews.
• 15/1/2026 : Program start date.
How to Apply:
• Interested candidates can submit their applications in the link below:
Admission Procedure:
• The School Committee will carefully review all applications and submitted documents. Applications with missing or incomplete documents will be excluded.
• Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to take an English language test.
• Only candidates who pass the test will be invited for an interview. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection will be made during the interview.
• Successful applicants will receive an official acceptance letter via email from the Admission Manager at Ahfad University for Women.
• Program fees (paid in two installments):
– Tuition fees: 1000$ (in equivalent SDG)
– Registration fees 250000 SDG
• The first installment of the tuition fees must be paid before the study begins.
• The second installment of the tuition fees must be paid before the third semester of study.
• Upon receiving your acceptance letter and proof of payment, your University Index Number will be issued.
• Applicants with a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in development related field with a minimum of Second Class – Division Two (Good) will be admitted directly to the program.
• Applicants with a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in in development related field with Third Class (Pass) will be admitted after completing qualifying courses equivalent to 12 credit hours before fully enrolling in the master degree program.
These courses will be offered by the School prior to the start of the program.
• Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in a non- development related field will be admitted after completing a e transformative courses in development -related field , equivalent to 20 credit hours.
